Give To Those Who Can’t Repay

Invest your resources with eternity in mind;
Give to those who can’t repay and you’ll be blessed.
Jesus said those who do so will find,
Themselves repaid when they enter His rest.

When we give to those who can’t repay,
We walk in the footsteps of Christ our Lord.
Great generosity and love He did display,
When for our sin, on the cross, His blood poured.

He gave His life for us,
Who never can repay Him.
Our selfless Savior and God, Jesus,
Mercifully, to our rescue, did swim.

And now He gives the command,
“Love each other as I have loved you.”
We musn’t give with payment in return planned,
But with the upbuilding of others in view.

While to give in this way is our duty,
And as servants we should expect no award,
Jesus’ benevolence knows no end of beauty,
And for our obedience He promises reward.

He says those who give will be repaid,
At the resurrection of the just.
Not only are we, of punishment, no longer afraid,
But gifts in Heaven by Christ are discussed.

God’s grace for us knows no bounds.
Though we can only give what from Him we’ve received,
His generosity to us inspires awe and confounds,
As yet more presents upon us will be heaved.

What kind of gifts can we expect,
When at last we stand before God?
He doesn’t say but for a start He’ll resurrect,
Our bodies and like Him we’ll be shod.

We’ll dwell forever in a new heavens and earth,
And receive bodies and gifts fit for that space.
Whatever else He gives, there’ll be endless mirth,
And best of all we will gaze on His face.

Heaven is Heaven because Jesus is there;
The best gift of all by far is the Giver.
With knowing Him, nothing can compare;
He’s our loving God and gracious Forgiver.

Give up what you can’t keep,
For an eternity of joy and free of strife.
Trust in Jesus and, heavenly rewards, reap.
Receive forgiveness and eternal life.
