If a woman possessing ten silver coins discovered she had lost one,
Without delay and in great haste a diligent search would be begun.
She would scour her home, looking high and low for her lost treasure.
In her alarm and distress, until the coin is found she would take no leisure.
But oh, once the coin is recovered, with exuberant joy she would cry out,
Inviting all her friends and neighbors to revel with her, dance and shout.
And so it is in Heaven above; God’s court is filled with rejoicing.
When even one sinner repents, joyful shouts the angels are voicing.
Without respite our God is searching; knocking at the door of every heart.
His desire is to redeem and save us to live with Him and never be apart.
Jesus also spoke of us as lambs He desires to bring into His fold,
That He might protect us from wolves, and in his loving arms hold.
Though God possesses ninety-nine sheep, He will set out in search of one lost.
Our Good Shepherd spares no expense, but joyfully pays our sin’s cost.
His heart for us overflows with love; for this reason Jesus, our God, descended,
To find us and bring us above, that all our sorrow and pain can be mended.
He willingly died for our sin, and spent three days buried in the ground.
Then He rose back to life so His coins, His beloved sheep, could be found.
And whenever a sinner repents, God Himself leads the rejoicing in Heaven.
For we are adored, cherished and loved, by Him Who created all in days seven.
Repent of sin today and trust Jesus; answer our God’s loving call.
Give Heaven cause for rejoicing that one more coin has been saved from the fall.
All praise be to our Father in Heaven Who lovingly scours the Earth,
For sinners to cleanse and raise to life; giving us spiritual rebirth.
