Praise the Lord for He’s made known to me the path of life.
He has borne our sorrows and devoured our sin and strife.
I was lost and wandering down sin’s rough, rocky road,
I was resigned to despair, then a Light before me glowed.
A gentle and powerful voice boomed loud, “Child, come to Me.
I condescended to wear a death shroud that you might be free.
Repent of sin and trust in Me, I Am the risen Christ.
My shed blood to pay the cost for your sin has sufficed.”
My eyes lit up with joy and my burden fell to the ground.
I ran full pelt to the Good Shepherd by Whom I’d been found.
He received me with a warm embrace and held me in His arms.
Through my tears of joy I saw the marks of my sin’s harms.
His hands and feet still bore the scars of what my redemption cost.
My Savior King was crucified to seek and save the lost.
This horror He chose to endure ‘cause His heart’s full of love.
Hallelujah to the Lord of Life Who came down from above.
The mighty seas and roaring waves had lifted up their voice,
But Jesus stilled them with a word, and to Him we rejoice.
Though we were drowning and nearly sunk, the maelstrom He dove in.
He swam to us amidst the breakers and swallowed all our sin.
Death is defeated, the serpent’s crushed, Christ won the victory.
Jesus is risen from the grave and enthroned in glory.
Look to Him for He is the Way; the only truth and life.
All you weary and heavy laden, His heart with love is rife.
God has not left us to languish ‘neath sin’s crushing curse.
Trust in Christ and hand in hand with Him to Heaven traverse.
