This World is a War Zone

This world is a war zone, and we must stay at our post,
Until the Lord calls us home to join His heavenly host.

But the battles we face are not waged in the flesh;
For the unseen, in what is seen, does itself enmesh.

The reality is we have an enemy that hates and wants to destroy us.
The enemy wants to drag us to Hell, and one of its methods is thus:

To posit arguments that appear wise, but in fact are evil;
To present what seems spiritual and philosophize, but in reality bring no reprieval.

I mean no reprieval from sin, for against God we’ve all transgressed.
And we’ll suffer forever apart from Him unless our debt is addressed.

There are only two sides in this conflict; what is false and what is true.
One side drags its adherents to destruction; the other raises to life anew.

The enemy seeds every culture with varied paths that lead to death.
But our God made a way to salvation by giving up His breath.

Jesus Christ is the only Way to forgiveness of sin and eternal life.
For our sin He did pay, because His heart with love is rife.

And once saved He bids us remain, for a short time to serve below,
On the battlefield of this world until upward, to home, we go.

As with any battlefield we should expect to meet resistance.
But in the strength our Lord provides, we must press on with persistence.

Jesus’ kingdom is advancing in the hearts of people day by day.
And He’s using us in His mission to show more lost souls He is the Way.

The war, it has been won, but for now the fighting rages on.
Continue to proclaim the truth in love, sharing the message of God’s Son.

Soon our struggle will be over, and we will enter heavenly rest.
God’ll wipe every tear away and hold us closely to His chest.

Out of love for and loyalty to Christ, remain faithfully at your post.
One day this conflict will be ended, and we’ll gather round His table and toast.
