Come Down My Lord

Come down my Lord, oh come on down,
One day my Lord Jesus gonna come on down.

As we walk through the dust of this Earth,
We’re faced with trouble and sorrow.
From the very moment of birth,
We don’t know if death’s waiting tomorrow.

Like the children of Israel we shout,
“Oh Lord, please hear our cry.”
We’ve sorrow within and struggle without,
Please send help from on High.

We all wear death’s chains and are shackled to sin,
But take heart for we can be free.
To this fallen kingdom, Jesus broke in,
To rescue you and me.

Our loving God, Jesus, was born as a man,
To suffer and die in our place.
To deliver us, from bondage, He ran,
For He’s rich in mercy and grace.

Come down my Lord, oh come on down,
One day my Lord Jesus gonna come on down.

He satisfied the wrath of God,
When for our sin He was slain.
He bore our sorrow and went under the rod,
To redeem us from death’s domain.

Jesus died on the cross and was put in a grave,
But He rose up on the third day.
Death couldn’t hold Him, He’s mighty to save,
Christ alone is the Life, Truth and Way.

Now sin is silenced and the victory’s won;
Death has lost its sting.
All can be saved through faith in the Son;
Hallelujah to Jesus the King.

We await His return with bated breath;
The day when all will be remade.
We’ll once and for all be rid of Satan and death,
And rest in the Son’s light and shade.

Come down my Lord, oh come on down,
One day my Lord Jesus gonna come on down.
