Lift up a shout of victory,
Jesus set us free.
Our slavery to death is history;
He rose on day three.
The Lord Jesus took the shackles off of our wrists; let raise them in praise,
And sing of the joy and wonder of knowing Him, the Ancient of Days.
We were made in love by Him and it’s Him our hearts long for.
And seeing us bound and captured by sin, He declared war.
Our God does not desire that any of us should suffer and perish.
Even though we sinned against Him, lovingly, us, He does cherish.
So, though we have incurred judgment, He chose to suffer and die.
Jesus Christ, the Lord Almighty, our ransom did supply.
Lift up a shout of victory,
Jesus set us free.
Our slavery to death is history;
He rose on day three.
What greater love could there be than for a man to die for his friend?
I tell you that this is precisely why Jesus did descend.
On the cross He bore our sorrows as blood poured from His side.
In His quest to give salvation He would not be denied.
By His own death, death He conquered and rose up from the grave.
And now He bids all sinners come to Him, for He is eager to save.
Glory, glory, glory be to Him, Jesus our Savior and God.
As a free gift, when we trust in Him, with new life we are shod.
Lift up a shout of victory,
Jesus set us free.
Our slavery to death is history;
He rose on day three.
