Light an ember in my heart and enliven the flame;
Oh, Holy Spirit come.
Give me the words to declare Your fame;
Oh, Holy Spirit Come.
Holy Spirit we rejoice,
That You’ve come to dwell in us.
So, when we say, “Come,” what we voice,
Is a desire for more of Jesus.
Oh Lord please make Your people be,
A bright and shining lamp.
Lead us out of sin’s city,
To join You outside the camp.
Lord, we long for You to take us,
Out of this fallen world.
But until You do so Jesus,
Let Your love, through us, be hurled.
Oh Lord, yes we yearn for home,
And desire to see Your face.
But before we know perfect shalom,
Use us to share Your grace.
Light an ember in my heart and enliven the flame;
Oh, Holy Spirit come.
Give me the words to declare Your fame;
Oh, Holy Spirit Come.
Holy Spirit burn away,
Whatever in us is not of You.
And Lord while it still is day,
Through us, this world, please reach out to.
Fill me Lord and pour me out,
As You wash other’s feet.
Relieve this world’s dark, spiritual drought;
Let living water flow pure and sweet.
Stoke in us a burning passion,
To lift Your Name up high.
And grow in us much compassion,
For a world that’s doomed to die.
Grant us grace to speak the truth,
With humble, sincere love,
To the aged, hale, infirmed and youth,
That they might join You above.
Light an ember in my heart and enliven the flame;
Oh, Holy Spirit come.
Give me the words to declare Your fame;
Oh, Holy Spirit Come.
