As time goes on I shed a tear,
Oh what I wouldn’t give to relive each wasted year.
But time, it only marches on;
All that’s young grows grey and wan.
I shake my head at my past self,
Saying, “Young man know thyself.
Foolish child, oh don’t you see,
These chains of sin can’t make you free.”
Lift your eyes up to the Mountain,
Behold the Lamb of God, life’s Fountain,
Hanging there upon the tree;
Crucified to set us free.
Lay down your sin and your sorrow;
Repent today, wait not for tomorrow.
Obtain eternal life without price,
Through Jesus’ selfless sacrifice.
Oh weary man, beset with sin,
None of your striving can give you peace within.
For all you’ve done in the past,
All the iniquities amassed,
In love, our God has paid,
When places with us He did trade.
The war with death’s been won,
By Jesus, God’s own Son.
Lift your eyes up to the Mountain,
Behold the Lamb of God, life’s Fountain,
Hanging there upon the tree;
Crucified to set us free.
Lay down your sin and your sorrow;
Repent today, wait not for tomorrow.
Obtain eternal life without price,
Through Jesus’ selfless sacrifice.
Blessed be the Lamb of God,
Who with our sin, upon the cross was shod.
Our Lord came from above,
To lay down His life in love.
And He rose from the tomb,
Having conquered death and gloom.
So lay your burdens at His feet,
Receive salvation free and sweet.
Lift your eyes up to the Mountain,
Behold the Lamb of God, life’s Fountain,
Hanging there upon the tree;
Crucified to set us free.
Lay down your sin and your sorrow;
Repent today, wait not for tomorrow.
Obtain eternal life without price,
Through Jesus’ selfless sacrifice.
