The Grace of God

The grace of God is rich and free;
He paid my debt on Calvary.
My debt for sin I could not pay,
But Jesus Christ, He made a way.

This gift of grace, it is not earned,
But received when in faith we’ve turned,
To Christ the Lord, Who is the Light;
To His open arms take flight.

For His arms, they were outspread;
Nailed to a cross His blood ran red.
Only the life of the Divine,
Could atone for your sin and mine.

But this great weight He gladly bore,
That life to us He might restore.
For His heart overflows with love,
And rains on us from Heaven above.

For He, God’s Son, came down to us,
The Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus.
He knew not sin, but sin, became,
Humbly suffering for our shame.

What kind of love is this we see,
In God Most High nailed to a tree?
No greater love, so rich and true;
The Good Shepherd killed for me and you.

It is for Christ all our souls thirst;
The great I Am; the Last and First.
To restore our bond broken by sin,
He was clothed in bone and skin.

Born to die was Christ the King,
To save us through His suffering.
Though in a tomb He was interred,
He rose back up; death He conquered.

And now He cries, “Come unto Me,
Repent and trust; I’ll set you free.”
So, come to Christ and you’ll receive,
Eternal life, when you believe.

Our God delights to give us life,
And cleanse us of our sin and strife.
His gracious gift is free to all,
And He will answer when we call.
