I’m Just a Little Lamb

I’m just a little lamb that’s been brought into Your fold.
Thank You for giving me treasure more precious than gold.

I have received from You, a gift that will not fade;
Jesus Christ my Lord, for all my sin, You paid.

Your perfect, divine life, You laid down in my place,
Because of Your great love and abounding grace.

Oh Lord, who am I that You would suffer for me,
Bleed, die, and be buried then rise on day three?

I am a wretched sinner, but You call me “beloved.”
I’m rightly condemned, but death away from me, You shoved.

The things of this Earth are passing away,
But what I’ve received from You never will decay.

You have given me life and brought me into Your family;
Made me an heir in Your kingdom saved from eternal calamity.

I am not a great or impressive person,
But now I’m a new creation because of Your exertion.

Oh Lord help me remember, it’s not I who am great.
I am but a beggar rescued from a deserved, dark fate.

Let Your love and grace make me meek and humble,
And guide my fallible feet so that I don’t stumble.

Though wretched and weak, I am prone to pride.
Christ Jesus my Lord, bind me to Your side.

Make me to live and breathe for Your glory alone,
So that through even me Your name would be made known.

In this story of mine I am not the hero;
Whatever good I’ve done, I take credit for zero.

I rejoice to be but a little lamb,
Kept safe in the fold of the great I Am.

Jesus, my God and King, the throne of my heart is Yours.
All on this Earth is dust, but Your kingdom endures.

Help me to be faithful and make much of You,
Wherever I happen to go and in whatever I do.

Thank you for the gift of eternal life,
Spent with You in joy and free of all strife.

Thank You for rescuing me, Your lost and wandering sheep;
For lovingly choosing to suffer down here and weep.

Your matchless love and grace, truly know no bounds.
Your majesty and splendor, the universe, surrounds.

Jesus, my Lord and Savior, hallowed be Your name;
Please help this little lamb, to bleat boldly for Your fame.
